Il concorso fotografico Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) è aperto a fotografi professionisti ed amatoriali da tutto il mondo. Quest’anno sono previste le seguenti categorie:

• Portfolio;
• One Shot;
• Smart Shot;
• New Talent;
• HD Video, Travel Shorts;
• Young Travel Photographer of the Year award (con due diversi gruppi di età: 0-14; 15-18);
• Award for the overall winner - the Travel Photographer of the Year 2016.
  Sono previsti numerosi premi, che comprendono tra le altre cose viaggi e attrezzatura fotografica, nonché visibilità attraverso social media, pubblicazioni e mostre.
